How To Apply
Eligible and interested candidates should apply through website www.recruitment.itbpolice.nic.in. Candidates are advised to fill the application form after reading the instructions carefully. The application must be submitted ONLINE only. No application will be accepted offline. Candidature of the candidate who submitted application offline will be rejected summarily. If more than one application are filled by the candidates all applications are liable to be summarily rejected.
Selection Process
The candidates whose applications are found in order, shall be issued admit cards (online) to appear in recruitment tests. The date, time and place of recruitment test will be indicated in the Admit Card. It is clarified that candidatures of candidates who are issued admit cards will remain provisional till they are finally selected.
Candidates will have to undergo the following recruitment tests:-
ITBP Vacancy Constable Driver 2018: HEIGHT BAR
At the very beginning of recruitment process, candidates will go through the height bar test. The candidates not meeting the prescribed height will be eliminated.
ITBP Vacancy Constable Driver 2018: PHYSICAL EFFICIENCY TEST (PET)
Those who qualify the Height Bar Test, will be subjected to physical efficiency test. The events of the PET are as follows:-
1. 1.6 Kms Race To be completed within 7.30 minutes.
2. Long Jump 11 Feet (03 Chances)
3. High Jump 3½ Feet (03 Chances)
No marks will be awarded for this test and it will be only qualifying in nature. Those who do not qualify will be eliminated at this stage itself.
Note:- PET will not be held for Ex-servicemen. However, Exservicemen will be required to pass the requisite PST, written test, practical (skill) test, and medical examination
ITBP Vacancy Constable Driver 2018: PHYSICAL STANDARD TEST (PST)
Candidates who qualify the PET will be screened for Height, Chest and Weight measurements. Those who do not meet the required physical measurements as applicable will be eliminated at this stage.
Physical Standards:
1. All other States and Union Territories: Height – 170cms, Chest Unexpanded – 80cms, Chest Expanded – 85 cms
2. For candidates falling in the categories of Garhwali, Kumaonis, Gorkhas, Dogras, Marathas and candidates belonging to the state of Assam, Himachal Pradesh, Kashmir and Leh and Ladakh regions of Jammu & Kashmir: Height – 165cms, Chest Unexpanded – 78cms, Chest Expanded – 83 cms
3. Candidates hailing from North-Eastern States of Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim and Tripura: Height – 162.5cms, Chest Unexpanded – 77cms, Chest Expanded – 82 cms
4. All candidates belonging to the Scheduled –Tribes hailing from the North-Eastern States as above and the Left Wing Extremism affected districts: Height – 160cms, Chest Unexpanded – 76cms, Chest Expanded – 81cms
5. All candidate belonging to the Scheduled Tribes other than North-Eastern States and Left Wing Extremism affected districts: Height – 162.5cms, Chest Unexpanded – 76cms, Chest Expanded – 81cms
Weight – Corresponding to height and age as per medical standard.
ITBP Vacancy Constable Driver 2018: Minimum Medical Standard:-
(i) Eye sight – The minimum visual standard for the candidates of all categories will be as follows:-
1. Visual Acuity unaided (NEAR VISION): Better eye – N6
2. Visual Acuity unaided (NEAR VISION): Worse eye – N9
3. Uncorrected visual acuity (DISTANT VISION): Better eye – 6/6
4. Uncorrected visual acuity (DISTANT VISION): Worse eye – 6/6
5. Refraction: Visual correction of any kind is not permitted even by glasses.
6. Colour Vision: CP II by ISIHARA
7. Remarks : -Binocular vision is required.
(ii) The candidates must not have knock knee, flat foot, varicose vein or squint in eyes;
(iii) Must be in good mental and bodily health and free from any physical defect likely to interfere with the efficient performance of the duties.
(iii) A colour blind person is not eligible for appointment. If at any stage of service career, person is found to be colour blind, he will be boarded out as per SHAPE policy in vogue in the force;
(iv) Tattoos: –
(a)Content: Being a secular country, the religious sentiments of our countrymen are to be respected and thus, tattoos depicting religious symbol or figures and the name, as followed in Indian Army are to be permitted.
(b)Location: Tattoos marked on traditional sites of the body like inner aspect of forearm but only left forearm, being non saluting limb or dorsum of the hands are to be allowed.
(c) Size: Size must be less than ¼ of the particular part (Elbow or Hand) of the body.
ITBP Vacancy Constable Driver 2018: WRITTEN TEST (OMR BASED) 100 MARKS
The candidates who qualify PST will have to appear in written examination. Fresh admit Cards to the candidates, who qualify for the written test will be issued online by mentioning the date & venue of the written test. A list of candidates qualified for written test will also be uploaded on ITBP website i.e. www.recruitment.itbpolice.nic.in. The written test will be as under:-
(i) The written test for 100 marks containing 100 questions will consist of only OMR based objective type multiple choice questions to be answered using a Blue or Black Ball pen only. OMR Sheet will be signed both by the candidate and invigilator.
(ii) The question paper will be set bilingually in Hindi and English.
(iii) Pattern of question paper will be as under:-
1. General knowledge 10 Questions 10 Marks
2. Mathematics 10 Questions 10 Marks
3. Hindi 10 Questions 10 Marks
4. English 10 Questions 10 Marks
5. Trade related theory questions (MCQ): 60 Questions 60 Marks
iv) The questions for written test shall be of 10th standard.
v) The candidate will be allowed to take carbonless copy of the OMR answer sheet. Answer key to the question paper will be uploaded on the website www.recruitment.itbpolice.nic.in after the written examination is completed.
vi) Candidates are not permitted to use Mobile phone, calculators, Smart Watch or any other electronic/electrical device. Candidates, therefore, must not bring these devices inside the examination premises. Possession of these items, whether in use or not, will be considered as “use of unfair means” in the examination and appropriate action will be taken
against such candidates.
vii) Candidates are required to mark their answers and fill the relevant columns on the OMR answer sheet only in Blue/Black ink.
viii) The candidate should not write anything on the OMR answer sheet except in the relevant columns. Any stray marks will lead to the OMR answer sheet not being evaluated and the candidate will not proceed to the next stage of the recruitment process.
ix) The cut-off percentage of marks for qualifying in written exam will be as under:-
General and Ex-Servicemen 35%
SC, ST & OBC 33%
x) No representation for revaluation of answer sheet of written exam or re-conduct of written examination will be entertained.
PRACTICAL (SKILL) TEST (50 MARKS) of ITBP Vacancy Constable Driver 2018:
The candidates who qualify the written test will be put through a Practical (Skill) Test. Skill test is divided into following parts:-
1. All checks before engine starting and knowledge about vehicle sensor and signals and rear view mirror adjustment: 5 Marks
2. Smooth straight head driving with gears changing, top gear speed, change to lower gear from top gear in different traffic condition: 5 marks
3. Vehicle uphill and downhill operations, stop and restart at steep gradient without rolling back: 5 marks
4. The technique of overtaking, giving pass, change of lanes and lane driving and other precautions: 5 marks
5. Use of hand signals and electric signals, emergency stops, precautions & safety: 5 marks
6. Vehicle reversing, Garaging on & off side and taking out vehicle from different restrictions, turning of vehicle left, right and stopping etc: 5 Marks
7. Show courtesy and consideration for the safe and convenience of other road users, such as pedestrians, drivers and other motor vehicles or cyclist: 5 Marks
8. Knowledge about mandatory, warning and informatory road signs: 5 marks
9. Knowledge about driver’s duty in case of accident: 5 marks
10. Knowledge about motor mechanism (candidate should be able to remove minor defects in vehicle): 5 Marks
Total: 50 Marks
The cut-off percentage of marks for qualifying in Practical (skill) test will be as under:-
General and Ex-Servicemen 35%
SC, ST & OBC 33%
MERIT LIST of ITBP Vacancy Constable Driver 2018:
After completion of Practical (Skill) Test, Merit lists in each category namely, Gen, SC, ST, OBC (NCL) and Ex-servicemen will be drawn on the basis of total marks obtained by the
candidates in the written examination. The candidates shall be shortlisted for Verification of Original Documents/Certificates and Detailed Medical Examination (DME) as per the category wise vacancies on the basis of this merit. Extended list shall also be prepared to cover the shortfall due to failure of candidates in DME and Review Medical Examination (RME). However, there shall be no reserve list.
