Interested & eligible candidates may visit our website at www.shar.gov.in to register their applications on-line between
27.01.2018 (1000 hours) and 16.02.2018 (1700 hours).

Selection Process

The qualification prescribed is the minimum requirement and possession of the same does not automatically make the candidates eligible to be called for written test/Skill Test. Based on the academic performance of the candidates applied, number of vacancies etc., initial screening will be done to short-list candidates for taking up written test. Shortlisted candidates can download the call letters from our website. Candidates shall be Shortlisted for skill test based on the written test scores and required number of
candidates alone shall be called for Skill test.
Skill Test will be purely on ‘go-no-go’ basis and marks obtained in the skill test shall not be considered for selection. The final selection will be done, amongst qualified candidates, purely based on the scores obtained in the written test. In case of a tie in written test scores, the academic scores of the notified qualification shall be the tie breaker.

Candidates have to meet the following Physical fitness standards and Endurance Test standards for the Fireman-A (Post No.22). Also, they are required to furnish a Certificate of Physical fitness as per the format at Annexure, issued by a Medical Officer not below the rank of Asst. Civil Surgeon of a Government Hospital, at the time of Written Test/ Endurance Test.

Minimum Physical Standards:
(i) No Deformity (inter alia, bow legs, knock knees or flat foot shall be a disqualification)
(ii) Height – 165 Cms
(iii) Weight – 50 Kgs
(iv) Chest – 81 Cms (Normal) 86 Cms (on Expansion)
(v) Distant vision : 6/6 without wearing glasses or any other aid
(vi) Near vision : Normal
(vii) Night or colour blindness shall be a disqualification
(viii) Each eye must have full field of vision
(ix) Squint or any other morbid condition of the eyes, or of the eyelids or either eye liable to the risk of aggravation or recurrence, shall be deemed to be a disqualification.

Endurance Test Standards:
(i) 100 meter run in 13 seconds
(ii) High Jump: 5ft
(iii) Long Jump : 17 ft.
(iv) Putting the shot of 7.27 Kg (16 lbs): 24 ft
(v) Throwing the cricket ball: 225 ft.
(vi) Rope climbing (only hands): 14 ft.
(vii) Pull-ups: 10
(viii) 1500mtrs run in 5 minutes 15 seconds.
